A VERY EXCITING WEEKEND!!
So let me tell you about this weekend. Boy was it busy! Thursday, on my way to work, I get an email video from Aaron and Sarah saying they were on their way to the hospital after Sarah's water had broke that early morning. All day at work I was waiting for Baby Kate to be born. Finally around 4pm, Baby Kate Elise arrived at a healthy 7lbs even though she was two weeks early. Mommy Sarah, Daddy Aaron and Baby Kate are all doing well. Friday, my first day off, my friend Randi came into town from Austin. I have not seen her since she came up when Guen was born at the hospital. She got here around 1130 and we took off to the Village. I had already made plans to meet my friend Julie, whom I have not seen in a long while, for lunch at the Black Walnut Cafe. It was so great to see you Julie! After lunch, since we were close to the med center, Randi, Guen and I headed up to the hospital to see Sarah and Baby Kate (Aaron had gone home to feed the dog). She is absolutely beautiful!!! And that girl has so much hair. Kate needs to do a hair donation to Guen. She is precious Sarah and CONGRATS, we are so excited for ya'll! After our baby visit, we then headed over to my sister Tootie's condo. We took Guen swimming for the first time over there. By this time Guen missed her afternoon nap and had such a big day already she was a little crazy at the pool. But we swam for about an hour before heading home. Randi and I put Guen to sleep (Ryan went up to see Aaron and Sarah after he got off of work). When Ryan got home, we all had some dinner. I made Randi some chicken, mushroom, tomato and pesto pasta chicken (Sarah, I used the homemade pesto you gave me and it was delicious!). We also had some salad and brownies and ice cream for dessert. After that big meal and our big day, we were in bed by 945pm. Saturday Randi, Guen and I went walking around out neighborhood. Then while Guen napped during the morning, I took Randi to see my parents new house down the road from our house. We visited with them for a little while and headed back home. When we got back, Randi took off back to Austin, Ryan headed to work and I went to Target and Costco. That was pretty much the exciting parts of our day. Sunday was our usual church and my mother in law came over for lunch. Ryan and his mom and Guen are in the living room playing while I type. Hope you had a great weekend. Love, Liz

Busy Weekend
This weekend was great. Friday, my first day off, I ran around doing errands getting ready for our party for Saturday. Saturday, Guen and I had a birthday to attend. It was one of my former NICU graduates that invited us to there party at MY GYM in The Woodlands. It is like is a indoor play area for kids that is all padded and kid friendly. Guen was trembling when we first got there. I think she was a little overwhelmed by all the kids. She stayed close for awhile but the warmed up and took off. Happy 2nd Birthday to Madison Collin and Dylan! We got home and Ryan had cleaned the house and did my honey do list. We got ready to have over Barbie, Robert, Christopher, Aaron and Sarah. It was a little dinner celebration as the last hurrah for Sarah and Aaron before the birth of baby Kate. 2 weeks and counting! It was fun and I made veggies and homemade dip, white chicken pizza, vegetable tortellini, mint brownies and lava cake. Yum. Ryan and I went to bed around midnight and we are NOT used to that. We crashed and burned. Unfortunately I forgot to take pics of that evening. Probably the last time I see Sarah preggers. Anywho, today Sunday Guen and I went to church solo since Ryan had to work today. We came home and both crashed for almost 2 hours. We ran some errands and visited her grandmother, Lovey and called it a day. Hope you had a great weekend. BTW, here are some pics of Guen when she turned 9 months old on July 3rd. It is getting really hard to take a pic of her every month in the chair by the bear as you can see.

Sarah's Baby Shower
This weekend I was off 3 days in a row. Starting with Thursday night after work, I met some coworkers at Grand Lux Cafe for a farewell party for one of the nurses leaving to go to another department. Janelle is really nice and we will miss her. While eating, we watched the monsoon hit the Galleria for the almost 2 hours we ate. Luckily right when we were leaving, that is when the rain let up. Friday, I took Guen for her usual walk in the neighborhood and then got dressed, we went to the grocery to buy the food for Sarah's shower, dropped off Guen at my parents house and took off for Barbie's house. Barbie and I made the food and then made all the placemats/banner/wreath for the door. It was a shabby chic bird themed baby shower. We thought it came out cute. I was over there for about 4 hours and headed home. Saturday, the day of the actual baby shower, I arrived at Barbie's early and got the last minute stuff set up. The other hostess Lisa, Barbie and I had a great time at Sarah's shower. Hope you liked it Sarah. Baby Kate is going to have lots of stuff! Sunday was the usual church and Guen and I went to the pool. Ryan could not go because he back was hurting so bad. This coming Wednesday is his first back injections and our last resort before back surgery. Hopefully we can put off surgery a little longer with the injections. We will see. Hope you had a great weekend.

Weekend Fun...
This weekend Ryan and I were both off Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday with both took turns getting our hairs cut while the other one stayed at home watching Guen. That evening my parents came over to babysit and we went to have dinner downtown in the Heights at Zelko Bistro which was delicious. I had shrimp and grits and Ryan had a pork sandwich. It was in this cute old bungalow that had been revamped into a restaurant. The only thing was that the A/C could not keep the place cool and even I was sweating as cold natured as I am. But we had a great time regardless. We went and had dessert at House of Pies because I was craving pie. We headed home after that and rolled in at the late hour of 9pm. We are party-ers!!! Saturday I went to go get a prezzie for Sarah's baby shower coming up. I am so excited and want to give her my prezzies! That is in two weekends from now so stay tuned. Ryan and I did some stuff around the house and I went to the grocery store and we called it a day. We had intentions of taking Guen to the pool but did not make it. Sunday it was the usual church morning and enjoying the rest of the day doing nothing. Hope you had a great weekend.

My Birthday Weekend
This Memorial Day weekend happen to land on my birthday this year. I was born Monday, May 31st, 21 years ago, I mean 34 years ago. Happy Birthday to me! I worked Friday and Saturday but was off Sunday, Monday, today, Tuesday. Sunday, we went to church. After church we went over to my parents house where my sister Missy had come into town for my birthday and my sister Tootie came over for a birthday lunch. It consisted of steak on the barbie, rice, slaw, greens, homemade rolls and for my cake my sister made Lava. If you don't know what Lava is, I am just gonna have to make it for you. It is so hard to explain but it is sooooooo good. We opened up prezzies, visited and then all went our seperate ways. Monday, my birthday and Memorial Day, we had all of Ryan's family over to my house for burgers with all the fixins. It was a little chaotic but fun to see all the family together. We put Guen in her bathing suit for the first time and put her in the wading pool her Lovey gave to her. She loves the water. We played games, had a recital and called it a day. Tuesday, Guen and I did our usual of walking, doing errands, but this afternoon she felt warm. I took her temp and she was 100.4. I don't know if it is because she is teething or if she is sick. This would be the first time she is sick in her little life. I gave her Tylenol and put her to bed early. I hope she is ok. Of course I have to work tomorrow. We will see...keep her in your prayers.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies. To the new mother, Priscilla, whom I went to see on Thursday. Baby Noah arrived this past Tuesday and doesn't she look glorious?! Happy Mother's Day to Sarah, the soon to be mother, that I had lunch with on Friday at the new restaurant Canopy-YUM. Happy Mother's Day to my mother, who my sisters, Guen, my dad, Ryan and Tootie's boyfriend Chad had dinner with at County LIne BBQ. Happy Mother's day to me, I love you Guen!
